概述：

BAX是与BCL-2同源的水溶性相关蛋白，是BCL-2基因家族中细胞凋亡促进基因，BAX的过度表达可拮抗BCL-2的保护效应而使细胞趋于死亡。广泛表达在肝细胞、肾小管上皮细胞、呼吸系上皮细胞和支气管平滑肌、血管平滑肌细胞中。

信号定位：胞质

在病理学中的应用：

1.文献报道Bax低表达与转移性乳腺癌化疗效果差和生存期短有关；

2.在肿瘤中与起源组织相比常表达下调。
